Belver is a pretty little village overlooking the river Tejo, and it is a 15 minute drive from the windmill. The castle has great views over the river and is well worth the entrance fee of 2 euros (Closed Monday and Tuesday. Open all other days 10am-1pm, 2pm-6pm). There is a weaving museum if you fancy trying your hand on a tradition loom (the museum has the catchy name of Núcleo Museológico das Mantas e Tapeçarias de Belver, and has similar opening hours to the castle). There are two decent restaurants in Belver, ‘O Castelo’ and ‘Sabores de Guidintesta’.
