A Rose Workshop at Jardim de Artemesia

Friend of the windmill, Victoria Iles, has a beautiful medicinal garden close to us, where she holds classes and workshops: Jardim de Artemisia. We have attended lots of events here and at the end of May we went to a Rose Workshop. 

Here at the windmill, it is always a shame to see our beautiful roses drop their petals at the end of their season so it was great to learn about all the amazing things that can be done with them. We started with a tour around the garden to collect the rose heads and petals (Victoria has various roses, some quite rare). Then we headed back to her studio where we dried, distilled, crushed, mixed, chatted, laughed and drank tea (not necessarily in that order!). At the end of a few hours we headed home with some gorgeous rose tea, a pot of rose lip balm, and a bottle of refreshing rose water.
