Another river beach with bar, canoes for hire, and a zipwire over the water (not always open but you can ask in the bar). This is a nice spot and they serve a mean gin and tonic at the bar but it can get very busy, since it is next to a camp site. If you are a keen walker, the PR 1 (that includes Belver and Praia do Alamal) continues to Ortiga and forms a loop. It is 16km in length and quite challenging in spots but a beautiful way to get to know the area, and with a few bars en-route! Ortiga town also has one of our favourite local restaurants ‘O Bigode’ (The moustache) so-called due to the owner’s sizeable facial hair! They don’t accept credit card so please remember to take cash.
